That’s exactly what I love sharing in my Bamboo Bench Upholstery Workshops. You don’t need experience, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. I’ll guide you step by step, and by the end you’ll walk away with your own finished bench (and a whole new appreciation for upholstery ✨).
In this calming, beginner-friendly full-day workshop at Dolls Point in Sydney(starting 9:30am finishing around 3-4pm), you’ll create your own beautiful bamboo hallway bench (90cm x 26cm x 48cm) with a freshly upholstered top cushion — complete with hidden storage.
Your bamboo bench frame will be ready to go, with foam and dacron pre-cut. Together we’ll focus purely on upholstery: you’ll learn how to glue foam, add wadding, stretch and staple your fabric, and create a soft, inviting top bolster. No sanding or painting — just pure upholstery.
With only 2 students per class, the day stays relaxed and supported. You can learn at your own pace, take breaks, sip coffee, and enjoy the quiet satisfaction of making something meaningful with your hands.
What to Bring (Fabric Requirements)
Bring upholstery fabric: 50cm x 110cm
Choose medium–heavy-weight upholstery fabric. No lightweight cotton, quilting cotton, thin polycotton or stretchy fabrics.
After booking is made, I’ll email fabric guidance and shopping suggestions — or you can purchase fabric from me at wholesale pricing.

If you cancel within 3 days of the workshop or do not attend on the day (no-show), no refund or reschedule can be offered.
If I need to reschedule
If I’m unwell or something unexpected comes up, I’ll contact you as soon as possible and arrange a new date that suits you — even individually if needed. Your booking will always be honoured.
